Collaboration with Artist, Elizabeth Palmisano

As an artist and educator, I straddle a pretty sweet world. I have had the privilege of making art and encouraging growth and development with the students of Fort Mill Cooperative Preschool. I wanted to share with you both the process and the end product. Before COVID-19, I had invited you all to come see the work we created together, on display at Goodyear Arts in Charlotte, NC. Obviously the show has been postponed, but here are some snap shots of our work.

I think of your children daily and I carry them in my heart. May you be well and stay well. I have worked with countless nonprofits and schools over the years and Fort Mill Cooperative Preschool is a standout. The space is so full of joy, the staff are wonderful and knowledgable, and the families’ involvement is inspiring. I am in awe of the community you all have built together.

After the fabric dried, I cut it out into squares and rectangles and used them as the backdrop for artwork created in my art studio in Charlotte, NC. Here are a few photos. The full collection can be viewed on my website or on my social media on Facebook and Instagram.

I want to thank you for your trust and collaboration during my two years of residency at Fort Mill Cooperative Preschool.
