Twos & Threes
Explorers
Your child will build skills and confidence through games, songs, movement, and art, as FMCP teachers provide an outlet for creative expression. By encouraging child-directed play, we ensure that your child develops at his or her own pace. Sharing, cooperating and taking turns teaches your child the importance of being a team player. Your child will grow into his or her own person, ready to tackle the next challenge—preschool! Our lesson plans provide growth for your early learner by providing activities in the lesson plan that are developmentally appropriate.
Language and Communication
Children develop a rich vocabulary as they are exposed to a variety of books and literacy materials. Daily read-aloud, songs, word games and conversations enable your child to begin building a solid foundation in language and communication.
Social and Emotional Development
Children build a sense of community as they interact with each other through daily activities, such as games and songs. Our teachers work with your child to develop self-help skills and the ability to negotiate his or her environment independently.
Potty Training
Cognitive Development
Our program offers daily opportunities for children to count, recognize numbers and shapes, and experiment with volume and measurement. Inclusion in daily routines and imaginative playtime gives your child the further opportunity to develop skills in numbers and operation, mathematics, and measurement.
Physical Development
Our classrooms and equipment are designed so that children can safely develop large motor skills and have fun. Our dance, exercise, and large playgrounds give children the opportunity to explore and grow while enjoying a variety of exciting new ways to do so.
Backpacks
Your child needs to have a backpack. It should contain at least 3-4 changes of clothes that are season appropriate to include pants, shirts, sock, and underwear if needed. Wet clothes will be sent home in a plastic bag. Please replace soiled clothing so that your child always has 3-4 outfits on hand.
Creative Arts
Children will learn to express themselves as they are introduced to various artistic activities such as dancing, painting and pretend play. Your child will learn about cause-and-effect relationships and self-expression through the arts and music, and will begin to share his or her knowledge in new ways with other children.
When your child shows signs they are ready; we are pleased to collaborate with you to provide support in potty training. This is a very fun experience that teaches each child independence. We encourage parents to share with us how you reward their efforts at home, so that we may provide similar reinforcements at school.
